Cancer is the leading cause of canine mortality accounting for 47% of deaths in dogs over the age of ten—roughly 2 million dogs each year in the United States. Currently many diagnostic tests require inconvenient sample collection, invasive equipment, or a visit to a clinic.
Currently, several companies operate in the kit-based veterinary care space, primarily using blood or urine as diagnostic sample sources. While effective, these methods often require veterinary involvement or can be uncomfortable and difficult for pet owners and the pets.
ARION Diagnostics Advanced Technologies, a veterinary oncology startup, is exploring the use of canine nail clippings as a diagnostic sample source. With their technology, it allows for the cleanest, quickest, and most economical screening method through a familiar grooming routine.

Oncollect removes many of the barriers associated with traditional cancer screening. Pet owners can order the kit online, collect a sample from the comfort of their home, and return it to the lab without scheduling a veterinary appointment. With Oncollect, the cancer screening process becomes simple, clean, and approachable for owners of all experience levels.

Oncollect reduces these barriers by eliminating the need for sample collection at a clinic. Oncollect is an at-home diagnostic kit that can be ordered online and delivered directly to pet owners.
Once at the lab, samples are analyzed using ARION Diagnostics technology. Results are then delivered digitally to the owner within hours of analysis.
The kit includes a precision-engineered nail clipper designed to safely collect a standardized 300-micron (0.3 mm) sample, along with a pre-paid return package for easy shipment back to the lab.
